West Coast Sash & Door
Damage done to doors and windows by the weather can be quite severe, especially in our little beach community. When it comes time to replace that ratty old front door, or put in a new set of windows to get rid of that “whistle” every time the wind blows through, the first thing that may cross your mind is the endless price shopping you are going to have to do. It is a standard procedure repeated by thousands, if not tens of thousands of homeowners every year. Not only is sifting through the phone book searching for a reliable contractor less fun than smashing your thumb with a hammer, it’s also not very exciting to rely on the salesperson at those places to tell you what you “need”.
One trip to West Coast Sash & Door can completely change the way you think about remodeling your home.
I took a visit down there a few weeks ago to do a little research for a completely unrelated article. I walked in the door and immediately felt something was quite a bit different than a lot of the other home supply type places I have visited. One of the first things I noticed was the beautiful showroom that immediately grabs your attention the second you step foot in the building. Rows and rows of custom doors sat to my right, with all varieties of hardware in the same vicinity. Every type of window imaginable also caught my eye as they were displayed in a 20ft. tall tower. They really have top notch and classy displays. However, I wasn’t there to shop.
As I made my way to the front desk (it was kind of hard to pry myself from the hardware section) I was greeted cheerfully at the front desk by a salesperson that was both extremely friendly and helpful. More often than not, when one walks into any type of home supply store, be it doors, plumbing, electrical, etc., there is usually the fifteen minutes of silence. That’s what I call the first fifteen minutes that is usually spent when you look for someone to help you, or the first fifteen minutes you have while a salesperson tells you all about the great stuff they can sell you, even though you don’t need it, so you simply remain silent while they ramble. Either way, there was none of that at West Coast Sash & Door.
After speaking with the salesperson for a few minutes and getting the information I needed, I was curious and wanted to gather a bit of info about their company. Without exaggerating, I was thrown aback by the companies’ philosophy and outlook towards customer service.
“At West Coast Sash & Door, every member of our team is committed to helping our customers create the home of their dreams through experience, integrity and value.” This is their mission statement. Now… I had to think about that for a second, as there was no mention of doors, windows, installation quality or anything as such. You see West Coast Sash & Door really does believe that the absolute most important thing in business is making the customers happy. To quote one of the employees, “We’re just like bamboo. We bend, but never break.” What he meant by that was that West Coast Sash & Door would bend over backwards for their customers. Just the fact that he had an actual saying for it made me chuckle a bit, but then I realized he absolutely meant it. West Coast Sash & Door has an AAA rating with the Better Business Bureau and has not had a single complaint filed with them or the California Contractors State License Board since they have been in business. Let me tell you, for a business that has been established in the community for 18 years to not have a single blemish on their record is pretty phenomenal.
